King size headboard DIY – The common picture of a bed is a bedside table, footsteps and rails; but the configuration of beds evolved through history. According to the Fine Woodwork website, modern beds have been standardized in four main sizes: King, 76 inches wide and 84 inches tall; queen, 60 inches wide and 80 inches long; full, 54 inches wide and 75 inches tall; and double, 39 inches wide and 75 inches long. Bed rails connect a bedside to the bed by either hooks or screws. If your bedside does not match the installation method for your rails, adapters are available.

A lean gable against the wall where the king size headboard DIY will be placed, with slots, holes or inserted metal posts outward. Whether your bed rails are wood or metal, the hook on the rails has one or more hooks on each rail end. Typically, metal rails consist of two hooks. Place the bed on the floor in front of the gable with the catches at the top and the inside of the rail is facing the center of the box where the springs will be placed. Most metal bed is L-shaped; the bottom of L is where the box springs rest, usually supported by wooden rods or metal rods of varying strokes stretched between the two beds. If you have the bed intended to add a bed sheet and a footstool to a bed, there will be hooks at both ends of the rails.
Lift the left bed gate. Bed rails have wheels – wheels or legs to support the rails. Notice the hooks on the rails pointing downwards. Note that the king size headboard DIY has holes, slots or metal posts inserted horizontally in the gable or leg on the bedside gable. Lean the hook end of the rail slightly downwards. Slide the hook over the slit, whole, or metal rod in the gable. Straighten the bed gate as the hook slides into place. Lift the right bed gate. Tilt the hooks on a small downward angle. Slide hooks into the bedside. Straighten the rail as the hook fits into the bedside.80 inch wide headboard, king size bed headboard diy
